Overall our junior boys played well, a couple minor hiccups allowing Dunmow to score a couple goals, that was not
part of our game plan. Stuart took a few minutes to get into his stride in goal, a lack of training no doubt to blame.
Stuart did have a much easier game than he was used to last year, only having to make 14 saves during the whole
game. Our defense played well with exceptional link-up play between Adam and James.
The junior boys have worked very hard over the last few months to improve and put last years misery behind them,
they came out fighting for this match and proved what they can do. Well done to everyone of them!
First period goal scorers - Jordan, Curtis, Ryan
Second period goal scorers - Jordan, Jordan, Ryan
Our youth team followed suit and arrived for their match yesterday in high spirits, they played exceptionally well from the first
minute, suprising everyone by actually keeping their 'shape' on the pitch. Jordan in attack and Reece in the goal proved to be
the two most outstanding players on the day, Reece with some fantastic saves to keep the boys in the game and Jordan with
several great goals throughout the game.
This game was not for the faint hearted as the boys were pegged back from 2-0 up, to 3-2 down shortly after half time. The boys
dug deep and levelled the score. The youths defense of William and David remained strong and for long periods in the game kept
the Tigers at bay. After a few words from their coach Steve they had regained the lead taking the score to 4-3, only
to see it levelled again by the Tigers who were playing much better in the later stages of the game. It was great to see the youth
team keep their shape and at times even saw the defense, namly David streaking upfront to help the attackers and had one or
two near misses himself, well played. The game looked like heading for a draw with the 2 minute bell sounding, but once again
Jordan popped up and took the boys into the lead once again, before Ryan sealed the victory making it 6-4 with a matter of
seconds remaining. A great display of determination and commitment.
